On the 4th, Chimideregezen Shijirbayar (32, Mongolia), ex Makuuchi Daisho
<https://sumodb.sumogames.de/Rikishi.aspx?r=12040>uhou, who retired this
past February—held his danpatsushiki at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo.
Approximately 130 people did the cutting, including Ozekis Kirishima and
Kotozakura . Daishouhou came to Japan at age nine and joined Oitekaze beya
after graduating from Nagareyama Minami High School in Chiba Prefecture; he
made his professional debut at the 2013 Spring Tournament. He found success
using a low center of gravity and a migiyotsu style, competing in Makuuchi
for nine tournaments and reaching a career-high rank of Maegashira 9W.
After his Oyakata Oitekaze cut off his ōichō, marking the end of his
13-year sumo career—he spoke with deep emotion: "I worked hard as a
professional, so it would have been sad to end it all without doing
anything. I'm glad I was able to hold this ceremony today to properly mark
the occasion." He has now launched a company dealing in imported goods with
his wife and is embarking on a new chapter in life. When asked about his
future dreams, he expressed his aspirations: "I want to succeed in business
and become a tanimachi (patron) for Oitekaze beya. I intend to keep
supporting the heya."
