Wakamotoharu played a round of golf with U.S. Ambassador to Japan George
Glass. Arashio Oyakata also joined the outing on September 30, following
the Autumn Tournament. The Ambassador shared the news on his X account on
October 1, writing, "You certainly shouldn't underestimate a sumo
wrestler's swing!" He included a commemorative photo taken at the golf
course, showing Wakamotoharu, dressed in a gray patterned short-sleeved
shirt and white shorts, standing on the grass alongside the Ambassador and
others. Reflecting on the round, the Ambassador noted that they "blew the
rain away" with their energy and introduced Wakamotoharu as the older
brother of Wakatakakage, who won the U.S. President's Cup at this year's
Summer Tournament. At the end of the post, the Ambassador jokingly added,
"I certainly don't have the guts to ask for a 'rematch' on their turf, the
sumo ring!" Comments poured in expressing surprise, with remarks such as,
"Wakamotoharu plays golf, too? He's an all-around athlete!"
