First time Kadoban Ozeki Aonishiki held his first pre-tournament degeiko
and first actual sumo session since March at Arashio beya in Chuo Ward,
Tokyo, on the 30th. He faced re-Ozeki Kirishima and Makuuchi Ouhou in seven
bouts, winning 3 and losing 4. Having experienced his first makekoshi at
the Haru basho, he started his training sessions earlier than usual. While
he attacked from a low stance, there were also times when his upper body
was raised. He won 2 and lost 2 against the other Ozeki, and said
positively, "The content wasn't good, but it was good that I was able to
wrestle. I think that if I fight strong opponents right away, I can get my
feel back quickly." He fractured his left little toe during the Spring
Tournament, and said, "It still hurts a little, but I have no choice but to
do my best," showing his
