Arashio beya updated its official website, reporting that after practice on
the 1st, Wakatakakage felt pain in his left thigh and was rushed to the
hospital, where he was diagnosed with "femoral compartment syndrome." It
was also revealed that he will undergo emergency surgery and be
hospitalized.

What are the symptoms of femoral compartment syndrome?

◆ Compartment syndrome In areas of the limbs where there are multiple
muscles, each muscle is separated by a boundary surrounded by bone and
fascia, and this muscle compartment is called a compartment. In this
syndrome, the muscle tissue swells due to trauma such as fractures or
bruises, causing a rapid increase in internal pressure and pain. There are
acute and chronic forms, with acute cases developing after fractures, etc.
Severe symptoms appear in a short period of time, requiring emergency
surgery. When internal pressure rises, muscles, blood vessels, and nerves
are compressed, which can lead to necrosis or nerve paralysis due to
circulatory failure. It is particularly common in the forearms, lower legs,
and thighs, where many muscles are present. It is characterized by severe
pain. If the internal pressure of the compartment becomes too high, a
fasciotomy may be necessary. Generally, running can be resumed about a
month after surgery, but this is subject to change.
