Official diagnosis for Aonishiki: Left 5th toe (pinky) proximal phalanx
fracture.

*proximal phalanx fracture* : a break in the finger bone closest to the
knuckle (MCP joint), common in sports or from direct impact. These
fractures often present with apex volar angulation (a characteristic "V"
shape with the point toward the palm) due to muscle forces. Treatment
ranges from buddy taping to surgery, depending on stability.
In addition, Chiyoshouma will also be absent from the jungyo due to acute
lower back pain and a herniated disc. Juryo rikishi Kagayaki will sub for
him from the Nagano tour on the 5th.
