The total number of rikishi listed on the Kyushu 2025 banzuke is 598. This
is the first time in four bashos since this year in March , when the number
was 588, that the number has fallen below 600. The previous record was 943,
set in the 1994 May basho, fueled by the "Wakataka boom." Isegahama beya
have the most rikishi with 30, followed by Takasago with 25, Oitekaze with
23, Tamanoi with 22, Sakaigawa and Nishonoseki with 21, and Kise and
Kokonoe with 20. Isegahama and Kise have the most sekitori with six.
Isegahama has five makuuchi rikishi and one in Juryo , while Kise beya have
three makuuchi and three Juryo rikishi.
