*The Nagoya basho starts this Sunday July 13th and runs through July 27th.*

Today, Yokozuna Houshouryuu had 15 bouts against Meisei at home in
Minami-ku, Nagoya, going 12-3 . He showed confidence in his preparations
for the Nagoya Basho, saying, "I feel good. My body is in good shape. I'm
almost too tense." With Oonosato's promotion, the  Yokozunae will line up
on both the east and west sides of the banzuke for the first time in four
years, and Houshouryuu is aiming for his first yusho since the first basho
of the year. On the 9th, he went to train at Naruto beya, where he showed
his energy  by competing with Sekiwake Kirishima and new Komusubi Oushouma.
Wearing a dark blue mawashi, he showed his power, pushing off with a sharp
tachiai and then thrusting his opponent out in one go. While watching the
video of it, he nodded and said, "I think it's good." Nagoya has been
experiencing scorching heat for days. After finishing his outdoor training,
he took a dip in a cold bath filled with ice to refresh himself.
