New Komusubi Houshouryuu has been training diligently at his heya with the
sekitori and the lower ranked guys. Today; he had 25 bouts. "I'm training
while listening to my body and doing the number of bouts I want to do. I am
not thinking of having become the heyagashira (highest ranked rikishi of
his heya) at all..Everything is as usual. Of course I want to get a yusho,"
he added. He has been watching old videos of the likes of Chiyonofuji,
checking out the techniques.. "Just watching those is very educating," he
said. He received a message lately from his uncle, ex- Asashouryuu. "Please
gambarize. You have already faced all the joi guys so you should be
familiar with their styles by now. The rest is up to you!" he wrote. "I was
very happy with that," said Houshouryuu. "Getting double-digit wins in
sanyaku draws you closer to Ozeki, but in any case i will be aiming for a
kachikoshi," he summed.
