 Emmett,
I saw discussion  on one of the YouTube channels that Takakeisho could be promoted with a solid championship in July but others said he probably would not be promoted with just a jun-yusho followed by a yusho as the YDC would take into account that he was kadoban just recently.  I don't know one way or the other, but the YDC is always looking for another Japanese yokozuna.  If Takakeisho goes zensho he might get it, especially if Hakuho is still around at the end.  Kisenosato was promoted after jun-yusho, yusho and that was his first Emperor's Cup.  At least Takakeisho would win his second.

John Gunning makes a point I had not thought about.  If Takakeisho beats Terunofuji on the last day, they could ostensibly both meet the prerequisites for promotion to Yokozuna.  That would be cool.  But I don't remember seeing any talk about Takakeisho along those lines.  Has anyone else heard any discussion of his chances?
