As illustrated in the accompanying pictures, the preferred nesting site
of the Gold Capped conure is a sweatshirt. Unrestricted harvesting of
sweatshirts for the demands of the United States of America has left few of
them in the wild. The average American owns three sweatshirts; the average Gold
Capped conure cannot find even one.
American Universities and professional sports teams are largely responsible
for this overharvesting of sweatshirts. We at the Gold Capped conure page
strongly urge you to stop purchasing sweatshirts and boycott all institutions
that sell them.
