Welcome to the official release of the Washington, DC Beer Pages. There is still much work to be done, but hopefully all the links are working, and all the information that is provided has been verified. Over the next several months we will be filling in the information that we are missing (sometimes signified by ??? on pages), and adding new places to the lists. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any problems with these pages.
All of this information is new, so we are not yet providing a What's New page. However, we do have a list of features we would like to add to these pages.
The purpose of this document is to provide
residents and visitors of the Washington, DC metro area with a
listing of beer-
There are other sites which provide similar
information, but, as far as I know, none that attempt to duplicate
this effort.
If you are visiting nearby Baltimore, you may wish to also check out
The Baltimore Beer Guide,
which concentrates on just the establishments within the city of
Baltimore and presents them in more of a "review-style" format.
So, I started the process of converting it to
HTML, and, along the way, updating it to include more information
that visitors to the area might find useful when trying to find a
comfortable drinking establishment.
I really had no idea what I was in for when I started this, but it
could not have been done without the help of many individuals,
including the entire
DC-Beer
group.
Some individuals deserve to be thanked by name, including:

Acknowledgements
This document was originally created in ASCII
form due to numerous requests for information about beer
establishments in the Washington, DC area on the newsgroup
alt.beer.
After it was finished, the
DC-Beer
administrator,
Dan Brown,
asked about placing it on his Web site.
Before doing so, many additions and edits were made by various
members of that group.
The file has grown to the point that it is kind of difficult to
maintain as an ASCII file and yet I felt there were many useful
pieces of information that were missing.
If you contributed to this, and I inadvertently
left off your name, please accept my apologies!
