And what would we do without Moti to inject his unique humor into his news
reports?

Moti sayeth:

"Stuff from the last few days:

One of the 34567 committees established after the scandals suggested that a
change was needed in the whole miyoseki (stock) system. Of course, most of
the Oyakatas stood on their hind legs and voiced their opposition. The
Public Service System Reform Countermeasure Committee" convened yesterday
and came up with 4 suggestions which will be put to the shisho-Kai soon
(gathering of the elders, where nobody is voted off the island. Maybe they
should try that sometime..). The suggestions are divided into two
categories- Oyakata- owned, and Kyokai -owned.
Oyakata owned-two suggestions:
1. Leave it like it is.
2. Put a "price range" on the dealings.
Kyokai-owned:
1. Upon retirement, the Oyakata will be paid for handing over the stock.
2. Upon retirement, the stock will be transferred to the Kyokai for free.

The Oyakata masses of course are pushing for 1-1, namely, leave it as it is.
Outside members are saying the Kyokai will have difficulties being
recognized as a "Public Service" if the system remains as is. "If we don't
reach some sort of compromise, there will be no solution ," said committee
member Takehiza Fukazawa.

Allegations were made against Kitanoumi -beya that their senshuraku party on
July 24th was attended by some shady characters -gangsters, or maybe even
hoodlums!! This was discussed at the "Counter-Gangster Committee" meeting
held a few days ago. It was eventually established that the allegations were
untrue."I hoid DA rumor, I checked, I found nuttin'," Brooklined chairman of
said committee Nishonoseki Oyakata. "This really is unbelievable. I
explained that there were no gangster elements at the party. We scrutinized
the guest list thoroughly. I really don't know why this kind of gossip
emerged, but it was totally untrue," added Kitanoumi himself.

Tosanoumi and Iwakiyama, whose danpatsushikis (retirement ceremony) were
postponed due to the scandals, have set new dates -Tosanoumi - February 4th
2012, Iwakiyama - January 28th, 2012. Both at the KKan.
