Now I am getting confused...   Purists prefer the status quo, yet
purists would also like to strip Asa of everything.  I thinking I am
missing the finesse of this argument.

Actually, it seems to me that the sumo world was trying to cover up
for Asa this time around (if reports are true, and it is starting to
look that at least some of some it is true.)

First, all sumo involved in the incident tried to cover the story up.
Asa's manager tried to take the wrap.  Compensation to keep the matter
going to the police.  This appears that at least some in the sumo
world are trying to help Asa.

Unfortunately (for the attempted cover-up) the press want to keep this
story in the news.  I am sure that most of us would all be in favour
of not censoring the press?  Also, despite the compensation being paid
(and no charges being brought by the compensated individual), it looks
as if the police want to take the matter further.  Again, (I would
imagine) that most of us would not be in favour of restricting the
roles of the police, no matter how great a person is involved?
