It rattled the doors in my place and had me watching my desk lamp 
sway back and forth, but that was about it.  Pretty long, 
though--felt like about 30 seconds, which is a little unnerving, but 
no damage reported anywhere.

Hardly a mention in the Japanese papers this morning, other than to 
say that trains were stopped as a precaution.  The lead story today 
is the news that it will be p--sing rain and people in hilly areas 
should be on the look out for mudslides.  P--sing rain outside as I 
wait for my morning coffee to brew, but no hills nearby so I at least 
should be OK. :-)
