No, I think you've covered it, Lynn, in your two messages. Musashigawa is very much old school.
I seem to recall reading that, as the yokozuna Mienoumi, his method of courting was distinctly samurai style:
 he sat in his best kimono in dignified silence while someone else recounted -- at length --
his virtues to the lady he was proposing to. When engaged, they did some double-dating with ozeki Asahikuni, now Oshima oyakata, 
and his fiancee. But both marriages have lasted well.
