[sumo] Summary-Time for a SML moderator???

Since so much is happening so quickly in the sumo world, and we are
nearing the next basho, I wanted to provide a brief summary of the
moderator discussion, for those who want to move on.

Thanks to everyone who posted so eloquently on the topic. The large
majority of responders do not want moderation. Those who do want
moderation, appear to do so reluctantly. I guess the consensus is for
self-moderation, and for keeping such replies off-list.

It has also been suggested that current members try to keep the list
informed of happenings in the sumo world. Perhaps a period of
demonstrated self-moderation will attract old and new contributors
with close ties to the sumo world. While there are personal
preferences about which media is best, the mailing list obviously
remains a valuable resource for many people.

Let's also hope that the Kyokai is able to come out of this latest
controversy stronger.
