I can't find the links to the story. Someone else will need to 
provide names and correct my details on this:

One of the oyakata got into in trouble for beating on one of his 
rikishi with a bamboo stick *after* the rules changed and this wasn't 
supposed to be allowed. Nobody knew about it until the rikishi had to 
go to the hospital for other reasons and the medical people there 
questioned the scars left behind.  The oyakata's horrifyingly 
terrible punishment was to apologize and bow deeply.

Along the same lines, a sekitori rikishi is also be in trouble for 
beating on lower rankers, again after the rules changed. Not slaps, beatings.

I'm trying to remember if the sekitori rikishi and the oyakata are 
from the same beya.
