We come to the end of another basho. I don't know if it's because I'm
getting older or what, but these things seem to go by faster and faster with
every passing year. Anyway, onto the final standings for Roto...

Divisional KK/MK dividing lines:
Makuuchi: 1269.9
Juryo: 1291.5
Makushita: 1263.7
Jonokuchi: 1270.5

The Perfect Team:

Y: Asashoryu 205 points
O: Kotooshu 269
S: Ama 173
K: Kisenosato 195
M1-M4: Aminishiki 172
M5-M8: Toyonoshima 162
M9-M12: Wakanosato 126
M13-M16: Tamanosahima 111
J1-J4: Kimurayama 79
J5-J9: Koryu 82
J10-J14: Chiyohakuho 85
-----------------------------
         Total Points 1659

MAKUUCHI:

YUSHO: Bunijiman (M13E) 1st
Shukon-Sho: Bunijiman (M13E) 1st
Gino-Sho: Bunijiman (M13E) 1st
Kanto-Sho: Bunijiman (M13E) 1st

Bunijiman had a strong final two days, scoring 80 points better than the
average, to come from behind and capture his first top division crown in his
first tournament in Makuuchi. The M13E also made a complete sweep of the
three sansho prizes. So congratulations on a remarkable performance.
Sukubidubidu will take runner up honors, finishing 36 points behind the
winner.

All three of our current Ozeki finished MK, with Doitsuyama missing out on
Kachi Koshi by only 0.9 points. Coming so close will be doubly painful for
him as he was kadoban and this MK will send him back to Sekiwake.

Doitsuyama will be replaced at the Ozeki rank by Dimitri, who picked the 10
wins required for him to earn promotion.

As for our other two Ozeki promotion candidates, Golynohana finished MK and
will have to start over from scratch next basho. Heikotoriki needed 10 wins
for promotion, but finished with 9. The S1e can be consoled by the fact that
his/her Ozeki run will be carried over to next basho where 10 wins will
still suffice for promotion.

Gino-Sho: Gaijingai (J5W) 2nd
Kanto-Sho: Gaijingai (J5W) 1st

Taka struggled over the tournaments final six days, scoring 14 points below
the average, but the J14's first nine days were strong enough to help
overcome a last gasp charge from Andoreasu that fell just 6 points short.
It's Taka's first Juryo Yusho and Andoreasu will have to be consoled with a
promotion to the top division.

Meyeryu captured the Shukon-sho while Gaijingai made a sweep of both the
Gino-sho and Kanto-sho.
