As several others have requested, Doreen, if you can point us to where we
could send letters to the NHK programming staff (or whoever might be more
receptive), I'm absolutely certain a bunch of us would be eager to produce
testimonials to how much we appreciate what you, Ross, Murray and others
bring to the English language broadcasts.

Without you folks, I might well be a fan of Ozumo, but my knowledge and
ability to understand and appreciate nuance and current affairs would be
greatly diminished.

On the other hand, without the English language broadcasts, and the great
work you all have done over the years, I might well never have come to love
Ozumu the way I do. It is more than a sport for me, it's a passion, as it
clearly is for you. What you and your colleagues bring to the table for us
English-speakers should be considered a national treasure by NHK (and indeed
the NSK).

Thank you and all the others on the English language staff at NHK from the
bottom of my heart for having helped to open my eyes and mind to this world
that you so clearly love. You have made my life much richer, and if the NHK
folks ever decide to cut the English language staff, my life and the lives
of many other non-Japanese speaking sumo enthusiasts will be greatly
impoverished.
