I finally made it. While I was in Massachusetts for the marathon, I
visited the Museum of Fine Arts and looked at the sumo art exhibit. I
didn't know sumo cards would count as "art." But they have a glass
enclosed display with some cards in it. I even recognized some that
are in my card collection. Does that make me an art collector? :-)
It's a very nice exhibit, all in one room so it's easy to go back and
forth and look at things more than once. It's all in the Asian wing
of the museum, so there are other things to look at on the way to the
sumo room.
I took a lot of pictures of the real art, but I have no place to post
them for anybody to see. If anyone could do that, I could send them
to you. The only problem is that they don't let you take flash
pictures and when I turn the flash off on my camera, it locks in a
very slow shutter speed. That tends to blur a lot of the pictures.
Of course, since I went to the museum after doing the tour of the
Boston Brewing Company (Sam Adams beer), that may have added some
blur to the pictures too.
And I ran a 4:29:44 marathon on Monday. Not nearly my best but very
encouraging considering the lousy medical year I had in '07.
