YUSHO: Fujisan (M10W) 3rd
Shukon-Sho: Fujisan (M10W) 2nd
Gino-Sho: Dmitri (S2w) 1st
Kanto-Sho: Kintamayama (M12E) 3rd

After a first week that saw him on pace to finish 15-0, Fujisan's team
survived a rough second week (scoring 51 points below average from day 9-15)
to just edge Kintamayama by one point and capture his third Makuuchi Yusho.
Kintamayama will have to settle for Jun-Yusho honors and his 3rd Kanto-Sho.

Dmitri captured the Gino-Sho, but failed in his bid for Ozeki promotion. He
needed 9 wins, but only managed 8. Heikotoriki, who was also up for
promotion, fell just one win short too, getting 11 instead of the required
12. Leonishiki was the third Ozeki promtion candidate, but he fell to MK and
will have to start over from scratch next basho.

JURYO:

YUSHO: Andoreasu (J12E) 1st
Shukon-Sho: Andoreasu (J12E) 1st
Gino-Sho: Ekigozan (J7W) 2nd
Kanto-Sho: Andoreasu (J12E) 1st

Andoreasu rode a strong final two days to catch Ekigozan and Kitano from
behind and capture the Juryo crown. The J12E also nearly swept the special
prizes, winning the Shukon-sho and Kanto-sho. Ekigozan takes home the
Gino-sho.

It looks like there will be at least five openings in Makuuchi for Natsu.
Jejima, Bunijiman, Kaiomitsuki, Ekigozan and Gonzaburow are the leading
candidates to fill those slots.

Gino-Sho: Fatakiyama (ms7E) 1st
Kanto-Sho: Konosato (ms1W) 1st

Konosato slipped by Kotononami on the final day to claim the Makushita
Yusho, his/her 2nd. The ms1W also grabbed the Shukon-sho and Kanto-sho, with
Fatakiyama grabbing the Gino-Sho.

There appears to be only four openings in Juryo for next basho. Konosato
will take one of them, Hogashi, Yokotanoharry and Mmikasazuma will grab the
others.

JONOKUCHI:

YUSHO: Zichi (jk6E) 1st
Shukon-Sho: Choshu-Yuki (jk12E) 1st
Gino-Sho: Stusan (jk9E) 1st
Kanto-Sho: Misisko (jk2W) 2nd

As with Fujisan in Makuuchi, Choshu-yuki appeared to be running away with
the Jonokuchi crown after the first seven days, only to struggle badly
during the second week. But unlike Fujisan, Choshu was unable to hold off
the pursuers. When the dust had cleared, Zichi emerged as the Yusho winner,
a full 21 points in front of runner up Misisko.

Choshu-Yuki can be consoled with the Shukon-sho. Stusan claimed the
Gino-sho, while Jun-Yusho winner Misisko also takes home the Kanto-sho.
