I wonder if they will ever call the dastardly deed "murder" or
"manslaughter" instead of "fatal assault", or are the two harsher words not really a part
of the Japanese language. I'm not criticizing, just wondering.

Ex-stablemaster denied bail over young sumo wrestler's death
NAGOYA -- A court here has refused to release on bail a former sumo
stablemaster under indictment for fatally assaulting a wrestler.
The Nagoya District Court has handed down the decision in response to a
request made Friday by former stablemaster Tokitsukaze, whose real name is
Junichi Yamamoto.
Yamamoto was indicted on Friday along with three wrestlers for fatally
assaulting Takashi Saito, 17, whose ring name was Tokitaizan, on June 25 and 26
last year as punishment for fleeing from the stable.
Following the incident, 58-year-old Yamamoto was sacked as stablemaster and
expelled from the Japan Sumo Association. The association is expected to
convene an emergency board meeting to decide on punitive measures against the
three wrestlers.
