I'm with Jack! Reports of Asashoryu's demise are greatly exaggerated.

Asa tired himself out in the bout against Hakuho - probably his longest,
most strenuous match all basho, right? He was thrown shortly after trying
to lift Hakuho out. Remember, he just sat out 2 basho. Anyone who thinks
he walked up the hanamichi on his way into the sunset ought to think again.
He'll be back in March, with serious intent. I think he'll win.

I'm also not in agreement with some of the author's other assessments. For
example, Ichihara has a loooong way to go.
