Nikkan Sports is reporting on their website that Chiyo has decided to
go kyujo from Day 8. The Kyokai site doesn't show it yet.
I think he may have set a record for the most consecutive losses by
an Ozeki from Day 1. The way he was going, he would have made the new
record 15 straight.
I saw a quote from him one day about being a professional and going
to compete every day. He has to be professional enough to know when
he CAN'T compete. The wrap on his elbow does not replace a complete
rest and rehab that the elbow apparently needs.
What I find really sad is that he was doing so well in November and
one bad match there completely took him out of the New Years basho.
