Abe-san:
Greetings!
I wondered what had happened to you. I am very happy to hear that you
are still among the living. Omedeto Gozaimasu!
During the past few years, several people have asked about you. Since
I live nearby, I thought I should dig into the situation and report
back.
How about we meet for a nice lunch next week and replay some old times.
You must remember the old Toshi-ya restaurant in Menlo Park. The
owner has a new place called Kaygetsu, also in Menlo Park, in the
Sharon Heights Shopping Center. If you have time, I would like to
invite you to a lunch there. (Or some other place, if it's more
convenient.)
Take a look at: http://www.kaygetsu.com/intro.html
They have a very elegant kaiseki dinner menu and also a fine lunch menu.
I would like to invite you to either lunch or dinner some time next
week -- almost any day except Wednesday. I hope you are available.
I frequently remember the old days in 1981 - 1986 when we worked
together on the CIC Japanese language dictionary for the handwriting
recognition project. I am still in touch with Saiku Masami-san, who
now lives in Seattle. Give me a call at 650-854-1489 or email me.
Please let me hear from you!
