[sumo] Beatniks to hippies (was Wakanoho) (OT) [Scanned]

According to the Seattle PI, prior to the word Hippies, those that lived on the edge (Earthy, long hair, sandals) near the University District, were called Fringies. They didn't hang out in the Beatnik Jazz Clubs, they were people whom lived near Academia, but were searching for a different path.

Another piece of useless information picked up on my sojourn.

And yes, since I saw Taiho live as a teenager, that makes me among that group!

Sadly, some of us are from all of those eras, plus a few more on  
either side...
