Thank you very much for the link.  Following the thread below to other links

and seeing references along the way to a variety of columns written by Joe
Granese in several different publications over the years, it's clear that we
on the SML barely glimpsed the tip of the iceberg.  I extend our condolences
and appreciation to his family and particularly to his parents.  This
prolific man leaves an empty space, even for people who hardly knew him.
