[sumo] L.A. Sumo tickets

Lurker and Sumo newbie alert...meaning me.

I wonder if Jim B. bought through Dormtech and Jim G. bought through
Ticketmaster, and if that's the difference. I hope so, as I just sent
my check in to Dormtech, and it would be nice to get some goodies!

We were lucky enough to go to the one in Vegas in 2005, which I thought
was fabulous (almost nail-bitingly so on the second day--will Asashoryu
be able to come back and win the day...?), and we are really looking
forward to this one, too.

Though a newbie, I do have some sumo street cred...I was born in Japan
when my Father was teaching English at Tachikawa Air Force Base (at
Yamato High School). Unfortunately, they moved when I was 2, so I have
no independent memories. Anyway, he went to a few bashos, and at one he
actually reached out and touched Taiho. That is just NOT something my
Father would normally have done, but I guess he had an urge. Apparently
all he got was a wonderful glare from Taiho and he wasn't kicked out or
anything.

I mostly wanted to take the opportunity to thank you all for your lively
conversations, as I learn a lot here. I even asked a Japanese colleague
to help me create a shikona. My wife is jealous! ;-)

P.S. My full shikona is Kosekiryu Wataru. I've since learned that
Wataru is an anime series, but that's not why it got picked. But, I've
also searched for Kosekiryu and found no matches. So I hope I haven't
accidentally taken the name of someone revered and therefore would give
offense if I use it. Does anyone here see a problem with my shikona?

Well, if you can afford seats in the 2nd row, you can afford to buy the
other stuff :-) Since I bought cheap seats, they could tell that I
needed more incentive, although the website didn't describe what the
extra goodies would be.
