There's nothing abnormal about an IQ score of 180. At the school I went
to, such a score would only be "above average". For an engineer, it's
high but nothing unusual, and remember he's an engineer. For a long
time I was a test subject for IQ tests in the 60's and 70's and I scored
that high myself. (Though not often.) My scores were all over the place.
Showing that if you take a lot of IQ tests, you get to mention your high
scores and ignore your lower ones, but it probably would be fairer to
average them. Anyway, you could really and truly describe this guy as a
geek. Not just an actor playing a geek. It's about time. What other
engineer has become a TV star? I can't think of anyone. Speaking as an
engineer myself, I'm happy to see this smart Asian American kid score
big in Hollywood. If he is responsible for the totally decent and
reasonably accurate subtitles accompanying the Japanese dialog on
Heroes, something which you don't see on TV usually, he gets a standing
ovation from me.
