[sumo] So I've been wondering about Kimenryu

Hi All,

      I started thinking about Kimenryuu again, perhaps because 
we've finally begun watching Barbara's lovely videos of the 
Nagoya Basho.  And there he is, faithfully shepherding Asashoryuu 
in and out of the arena.

      So my first pondering regards sidekickism.  Would you say 
Kimenryuu is sort of like Gabby Hayes, the old-guy sidekick to 
the handsome, young hero, Roy Rogers?  Or is he more like Jeeves 
or Bunter, noble sidekicks of Bertie Wooster and Lord Peter?  Any 
other suggestions?  Personally, I've always been a big fan of 
sidekicks and think Kimenryuu is magnificent in the role.

      Now on a more serious note, Kimenryuu is ranked at Ms 19W 
this time.  That's pretty high for him (best is Ms 4).  So do you 
think he'll be better able to focus on his sumo and move even 
further up because he won't be sidekicking, or will the stress of 
thinking he should probably be tending his charge in Mongolia 
actually hurt his performance?

      Naturally, I'm hoping he'll gambarize and move even higher.
