"I'm not going to retire because of this!!", declared Asashouryuu
yesterday. Although he was offered close to 25 million dollars by a
certain Martial Arts group, he has no intention of going that way.
Training equipment has been brought in to Dreamland, and Asa intends to
start training on his own. Asa has said all of this to Japanese
acquaintances. "With all the uproar this has caused, I really don't
know what the best thing to do is.. But even if I am at the core of
this uproar, there is no way I'm quitting. At this point I have no
intention of consulting with anyone," he said. It seems many are not
buying his mental problem, although he is the only one who really knows
what he is going through, and that seems to cause him a lot of pain. He
hasn't lost his sense of judgment totally, but the ups and downs of his
emotions are strong. Although many Japanese fans don't feel it, Asa has
a profound love for Sumo. "I still want to yusho!", he said. He does
not want to throw away the chance to reach the next two milestones-one
yusho to tie Takanohana, three to tie Kitanoumi.
He
was joined by two brothers and his father yesterday. They brought some
training equipment with them, and , upon permission of his doctor, he
is planning to start his physical rehabilitation on his own. His body
knows that without a dohyo and a mawashi he would be very hard-pressed
to fully recover. Still, this would be the first step towards stepping
on the dohyo when he returns to Japan. "I know I owe an explanation to
the fans and the Kyokai, but why did I get into this situation..", he
wondered.
A lot of speculation concerning Asa's next move. It is being widely
reported in Mongolia and subsequently in Japan that he intends to
change the venue for his physical recuperation from Khujirt to
somewhere far away, about 300 kilometers southwest from Dreamland,
Shargaljuut. Takasago Oyakata, who hasn't heard from Asa in years,
has denied it. "I have not heard about this. With all the Japanese
reporters camped out outside his door, he is not going anywhere. In any
case, the mental treatment comes first, before going to any onsen".
Asked about when he intends to send a manager to Mongolia as promised,
he answered "Soon. Visa? Everyone going there needs a visa, no?", he
said, rather angrily.
Kotomitsuki has finally made it. He too, has his own bento box which will be
sold starting next basho. Aichi food- fried Ebi, misokatsu, pieces of
chicken wing, and his personal favorite - minced chicken meat with
rice. Price - 37 ₪ (1050 yen). "It's tasty!", proclaimed Mickey
himself. these "rikishi bentos" are sold exclusively at the KKan. There
already are Yokozuna/Ozeki and Takamisakari bentos. The makers of this
bento said they were trying to make it as close to Mickey's hometown
food taste as they could.
