Sumo Pictures Irk Romanians

    TOKYO (UPI) - An advance group of Romanian officials inspecting the women's quarters for their athletes at the Tokyo Olympic Village were offended by pictures of "nude men" on the walls in the women's bedrooms. 
    The framed photographs were of Japanese sumo wrestlers wearing their traditional loincloths, or "mawashi." These outfits otter a good deal more exposure, especially from the posterior, than most foreigners are accustomed to seeing. 
    Deferring to a request from the Romanians, Olympic Village officials removed the sumo pictures. 
    Sumo is a national sport in Japan, and the gigantic wrestlers are seen regularly on nationwide television. When they toured the United States earlier this year, however they had to wear shorts under their loin cloths.
