An employee of Dreamland has told a friend that Asashouryuu has been
eating udon and meat since his arrival. OTOH, Asa has not left his
luxurious second floor lodgings because of the media frenzy. The onsen
institution at Khujirt is on a 24 hour alert and is staying open, says
the friend. "When he first arrived, he just had some soup, but from the
next day he had Mongolian style udon and meat", said the insider. It is
rumored that in Tokyo he only ate soup and drank water, so the air in
Mongolia must have whetted his appetite. As for the media, they are
camped out outside Dreamland with cameras waiting to catch a glimpse of
the yokozuna. Relatives warned him of that, so he doesn't leave the
room for now. The relatives have been dining at a restaurant outside
the premises, but Asa has not joined them there to date. His room is so
secluded that even the employee is not allowed to enter. It is said
that he stayed in the same room two years ago during the "opening
party" of the resort, that supposedly went on for three days.
As
for the onsen in Khujirt, it is usually open 9-5, but is on 24 hour
call in anticipation of Asa visiting. A room on the third floor has
been reserved for him, but the media camped outside (40 people) is
stopping him from arriving. He is putting off getting treated because
he hates the Japanese press, and is yet to show any remorse about
ignoring the jungyo, says the article in summary.
