I'm a firm believed that even after 4 months off, anything less than
15-0 by Asashoryu will not
be considered up to standard for many menbers of the NSK. (and wrote as
much several weeks back)

Asashoryu returns in January, and if Hakuho and Asashoryu have the same
record (something at 10 or more wins), would we then see the spectacle of
the NSK deeming one's record acceptable and the other's as not, or would
comments about their record be on an equal level?

I think no one will throw him out even if he goes kyujo, or gets a 9-6.
It's all talk. Let me remind you that a week ago the NSK was saying a
Mongolian return was totally out of the question. When and if (and that
IS a BIG if) Asa returns, he will return as a hero. He will receive a
standing ovation when he enters the KKan, the kind hardly ever seen
before. He will be seen as someone who has tried his best to jump over a
huge obstacle, and just the fact that he's back would gain most fans'
sympathy.
We'll just have to wait and see.
