I would be interested in knowing what is considered "up to par with the yokozuna standard". I'm a firm believed that even after 4 months off, anything less than 15-0 by Asashoryu will not be considered up to standard for many menbers of the NSK. (and wrote as much several weeks back)
Totally idle speculation, but I wonder if (and it's a big "if" IMO) Asashoryu returns in January, and if Hakuho and Asashoryu have the same record (something at 10 or more wins), would we then see the spectacle of the NSK deeming one's record acceptable and the other's as not, or would comments about their record be on an equal level?
