Quite a long extract (presumably of the same interview) was shown on
NHK's 7:00 p.m. news just finished. D. Sumiyabazar was quoted as saying
that he thought the Kyokai's actions were not unreasonable and that
the Mongolian media should give the Mongolian people correct
information about the matter. He added that through sumo (and therefore
the Kyokai) young Mongolians were given opportunities to be successful
in Japan. It was a very nice piece of damage control. (Caveat: this was
translated from Mongolian into Japanese and from Japanese into
English.)
His wife and children and his parents had not joined him at the time of
the broadcast. (I understand that Shoryu's parents are not in good
health and that Tamir's parents have some problems as yet unconfirmed.)
