While I realize this list is directed at English-speakers, spelling it so
that an (American) English speaker can pronounce it easily doesn't mean that
it's the proper transliteration. Among languages using the 'English'
alphabet, there are all sorts of different pronunciations. So people tend to
spell things more-or-less along certain rules, none of which include trying
to make it easier to pronounce for an English speaker.
Not saying that it wouldn't be helpful, just that there's reasoning behind
it.
