Hi,

As we are in the midst of the final basho of the year, here's an
update on the stretch run of the Sumo Champ title!

When we left off, Toyonoshima had defeated Asasekiryu to win a bunch
of prizes, the least of which being the honorable title of Sumo Champ.
He would prove not to be a fluke champion, as the now M4 Toyonoshima
defeated M5 Takekaze on Day 1, but eventually the law of averages
caught up to him, that law being that an average rikishi will lost to
another average rikishi in due time. And so on Day 2, fellow M4
rikishi Kyokutenho regained the Sumo Champ title!

Alas, a long reign was not in the cards for our Mongolian friend, as
Takekaze was given another chance at the title, and he was not about
to let it slip away a second time! But the downward pull of the Sumo
Champ title was too much to resist, and the next day M6 Goeido wrested
the title away to become the NEW Sumo Champ!

The trend was finally reversed on Day 5, as Goeido put away M9 Futeno
to retain his Sumo Champ title.

Today he puts it all on the line against the former champ Kyokutenho.
And so it goes in the "what goes around, comes around, and comes
around again" world of Ozumo.
