This reminds me I wanted to update anyone who cares on my trials and
tribulations trying to get the Basho actually shown. To quickly
recap...
Comcast in my local area (Washington DC Metro area, Northern VA)
carries a number of channels from the MHz Network
(http://www.mhznetworks.org/), one of which is supposed to be NHK. The
programming listed in the onscreen guide has the Bashos listed but the
actual content is other stuff (not being able to read or (yet)
understand Japanese I'm afraid "stuff" is the best I can do).
I finally contacted the Comcast people on the phone and it seems they
didn't even know that this channel was in their listings. Either way
they point the finger at the MHz people (surprise, surprise).
I then got in email touch with someone from MHz. She didn't seem to
have any idea when I was talking about. She just told me that there is
a 14 hour (give or take) time difference between VA and Japan. She then
pointed me to the NHK English website (http://www.nhk.or.jp/english/)
for program listings. These listings actually are broadcast on a
different MHz channel
(http://www.mhzworldview.org).
It seems I'm officially in the spinning twister know as customer
support. Should anything change I'll try and remember to post it.
K-jo, who really wants to see the Basho almost as much as he wants "Ace
Combat 6" and "Guitar Hero III" for Christmas
