Really?  My printed guide (received in the mail) shows the correct start (at
11 pm) in both the Japanese and the English guides.  In the English guide,
don't forget there is a "corrected" time scale between the 3rd and the 4th
when DST ended. 

Key part - all the sumo broadcasts are 2 hours long, starting at 11 pm PST/2
pm EST.
