[sumo] Suggestion re: list moderation

On that particular list, list suspension is a consequence. It doesn't
have to be the same here.

For me, the distinction is no one stops you from posting whatever the
heck you want. I was on another list where every message had to be
approved by a moderator before it was posted to the list. Not
surprisingly, messages that disagreed with the moderator, no matter
how polite and well-reasoned, never saw the light of day. Therefore,
I'm not a big fan of moderation.

List moms are a kind of referee. They are appointed/elected by the
list, and usually only act when things have gotten to the name-calling
level. If they start censoring views they don't like, then the group
should vote in/appoint someone else who can stay neutral.

People can and will disagree. It's just when it gets ugly that I'd
like for us to have a way to call a time out and go back to sumo.

Perhaps we should be looking for a list gyoji instead.
