[sumo] [spoiler] Hypothetical question about Chiyotaikai plus Hakuho's tsuna choice

Well, according to that fortune teller Hosoki, as I wrote a couple of weeks
ago - one to 1 1/2 years for Taikai's zuna-ship :-)

Seriously, I, for one, would love to see Chiyo as yokozuna, but Meike and I
were discussing the last few days that that would probably finally end his
sumo career. I really doubt that he could maintain a yokozuna's performance
expectations.

On another note, I wonder about Hakuho's choice of tsuna when he is made
yokozuna. As I understand it, the Tatsunami Ichimon traditionally has used
the shiranui style - the one with the two knots in the back - and the style
that is infamous for bringing bad luck to its wearers. I truly hope that he
either 1) be permitted to choose the one loop, i.e., the unryu style; 2)
that he DOES choose the unryu style; or 3) that should he choose the
shiranui, that he break the so-called "curse". He already has enough bad
luck with that jackass of an oyakata, the former Konechika. Thank heavens
for the former Miyagino oyakata, Kumagatani oyakata, Hakuho's true mentor
and guide!

I have a hypothetical question, one that may be moot after the day 13
results. Chiyotaikai, at 10-2, is only 2 wins off the lead. He has an
outside chance at the yusho, and a better chance at jun-yusho. He's
coming off a defeat of Asashoryu. Let's say he wins this tournament, or
the next, and manages jun-yusho in the other. Coming off a kadoban
performance, would he be considered Yokozuna material, or would he need
a three tournament run? If this actually happens, imagine, a jump from
one to three yokozuna in two tournaments.

Wasn't it Mienoumi who came out of nowhere to put together a Yokozuna
run late in his career?
