He lies. My granddaughter and I bumped into him a couple of years ago at the
local Italian restaurant here in Ryogoku, where he was on what had to be a
date (with a woman) - corner table, bottle of wine, and all.  But that's a
story for another time....

Takamisakari sent a plea to the world at large two days before his 31st
birthday. A day after Ushiomaru announced his marriage plans with the
aesthetician babe, he seems to have contracted the "Lonesome Guy Blues"
and envy has taken over. After going for degeiko at Kasugano, he said:
"All my drinking buddies are from the Sumo world. I've never gone on a
mixed date.. A regular date? I've never been that suave.. If you set up
such a meeting, I would surely go..". Last year, the famous "tarento"
Amichan said she was a "huge fan" of his and came to visit him at the
shitakubeya. "I was totally starstruck, and I never heard from her
again..", he lamented, plucking his hair. After pondering for a minute,
he said:"OK, if there's a woman out there who is interested in me, let
her show herself at the heya.. I don't mind if it will be a joint party
or a one-on-one meal.. But I don't think any woman in her right mind
will come for a useless guy like me.." He had only one condition: "I
can't figure out celebs, so I'd like an 'ordinary' woman.."
