[sumo] Shoryu in Dewa now, etc. MORE

On second thought, your post was actually sent about 1hr 15 ago, so I won't
trudge back in this heat. He (Asa) probably has gone by now.

On a different note, I did notice Futeno nursing his left elbow area or side
with an icepack. That may have explained his almost non-participation in
soken.

In response to Eduardo's call for heya entrance photos, I did go to Oguruma,
Otake and Kitanoumi, strictly for the pix. One of the "coaches"- I don't
know what you called retired rikishi who really aren't oyakata -, Yuho, told
me that Kotooshu was at Otake for degeiko. I saw Otake oyakata, former
Takatoriki, and he invited me in, so I will post some comments and photos on
my blog tonight, AFTER I finish the soken videos and pix, and AFTER I send
Eduardo his heya photos. Thank you, Eduardo!

Hi all,

The yokozuna walked into Dewanoumi about 25 minutes ago. He was there
only last Friday, too, when I was taking four young American friends to
see asageiko. Busy man.

BTW, I enjoyed Barbara's blog on the Soken. I was over on the West
side, in much the same sort of seat. So far I have always managed to
get on the hanamichi -- not good for general photographs but I manage
an occasional great close-up. This time I had a nice one of Kotooshu
putting on the knee strapping, when an elderly fan right behind me
started calling out his name, and set off three other people including
a little kid. Naturally the ozeki turned in the opposite direction to
the rude noise-makers, who spoiled everybody's chances.

I'm mystified about the comments on the absence of Tochiazuma's press
conference and NHK interview; I swear I saw it briefly on the 7:00
news, and a long version on the 9:00; and also this morning on NHK
World. (I record news programs when I'm out or asleep.)

Back to the grind.
