[sumo] New French president doesn't like sumo

Actually, Dale, and oddly, I didn't see or hear anything about Tochi on the
7 o'clock news, either, and I watched it from the beginning, so you didn't
miss anything, and there's no need to be sorry. Maybe they are saving it for
the 9 o'clock's hour-long newscast. That way, they can get Matsui's 2000th
hit AND Tochi's retirement in in the same broadcast.

I did hear that "not intelligent" comment, though. Sarkozy's probably never
even seen sumo. What a dope.

I'd intended to make a video capture of the translated
NHK news story on Tochiazuma. But I tuned in a little
bit late, and I guess it was one of the first stories reported.
Sorry.

In the coverage of the French election, it was reported
that incoming president Nicolas Sarkozy thinks sumo
is "not an intelligent sport". So, I suppose he won't be
attending honbasho, unlike his predecessor, Jacques
Chirac.

Oh well, I'm not too crazy about him either :)

Dale
