Here, here! Or is it "hear, hear"?
My apologies to anyone I may have bored, ignored, or worst of all, offended
over the 10 years since my membership. The list is great!
Barbara Ann (how about Sumobarbara or Sumobaba?)

At this time it seems appropriate to take a breath and congratulate this
mail list on its 14th birthday.
The international and generally cordial demeanour of its membership
bonded around the common passion of sumo has lead to many meetings and
friendships in many cities around the world, often resulting in chances
for that real Sumo experience that might otherwise never have happened
through the unbounded generosity that is out there.
Although I hardly have the time to scan the digest or even watch an
online feed of a basho these days, I still enjoy a quick skim of the
posts with a gentle smile when I see the familiar names of friends (both
virtual and real) or the emergence of a new energetic poster taking up
the torch and continuing to bring all manner of Sumo to a range of fans
around the world.
There are many more avenues for info about Sumo nowadays than when this
ML started in May 1993, and the odd hiccup every 5 or 6 months where
people get a bit upset with each other in the same way as strains emerge
in any relationship.
I for one, though, am glad you are still there old friend.
Salutations for your 14th birthday Sumo ML and here's raising a glass in
the hope that there will be many years to come.
Gratitude to all the mail list keepers, posters and lurkers that have
made this ML a fun, helpful and informative place to be over the years.
Cheers, Pete.
