General agreement here. Except for the top-posting, which on some 
professional lists I belong to, is mandatory. (And next Saturday, DV, I 
will get on broadband so these long unsnipped posts will not cost me an 
arm and a leg any more.)

Right. And Emmett is a friend of many of us. Don't nobody touch him! He 
owes me a couple  beers (eventually) for the cheap sumo tickets I 
'sold' him.

Sorry, can't agree there. That is too much like a chat room where you 
have to wade thru a whole lot of know-nothing comments to garner a 
sensible contribution. On this list at least you can see from the 
headings -- and, all too often, the signatures -- what to delete.

Now, it's been a very good Golden Week. I may still raise the energy to 
make another post, but at the moment it's touch and go.
