Kisenosato's tsukebito was Hanada, who retired after the Hatsu Basho. I'll
keep an eye out for who he has in Osaka. Probably Yuminosato or Takanoya BUT
- they are brothers who are two years apart and who look like identical
twins, so I probably won't be able to tell which is which until I see them
in person in May.
Gold Hat Man is Mr. Yamada, who is very friendly to everyone. He loves to
give out stickers of himself. He really doesn't have a seat at all, but
introduces himself to the people sitting in the box he is waving from, if he
doesn't know them first, and actually squats in the aisle behind the box at
the opportune time.
Roho is just as friendly as Hakurozan. Don't be misled by the way he looks
and (sometimes) acts. They are both very gregarious outside the dohyo, and
Roho does smile a lot.
I'll take a look at Day 6 just to make sure it wasn't me :-) (hee hee)
Actually, I wasn't there until Day 9, but I'll review the videos that I also
purchased from Barbara Techno.
I hope you're the divisor of Takekaze's weight, not the multiplier - only
kidding.

Subject: [sumo] Dumb Hatsu questions before Haru starts
Hi All,
We've been having a wonderful time going through the Hatsu Basho via
Barbara's DVD set (the technogirl Barbara, not the BTRK Barbara). Anyway,
when you get to watch two hours at a time you start noticing things and
begin to wonder. So I have more dumb questions about things I've seen in
the background.
1. Who is Kisenosato's tsukubito? He looks to be rather slim.
I might decide to support him when I'm not rooting for Kimenryuu.
2. On the first six days, there was a guy sitting about 4 or 5 rows up
behind the gyoji who was wearing a gold top hat and waving a gold fan. Who
is he?
3. I'm wondering if Hakurozan is someone with whom I might not mind having
a few beers. I don't think I'd want to have beer with Roho, but the younger
brother seems a bit more sociable.
Does any one know?
4. Was the hot red head sitting along side the hanamichi on day
6 (higashi side, I believe) a member of the mailing list?
Other than his bizarre performance against Dejima, I must say that
Asashoryu is damned impressive.
I've discovered that Takekaze and I are very similar numberswise.
We're pretty much the same weight, height and age.
The only major difference is the 2.2 conversion factor between our chosen
units of weight and age. But those factors cancel, because they're in
opposite directions. I may have to start rooting for him, it's almost like
we're twins.
Take care,
larry p
