Great interview.
I have a feeling almost every sumo fan was pulling for him to make it. It's the sumo version of "Rocky"

Kotomitsuki press conference summary:
Q: Looking back at Nagoya, what are your thoughts?
MK:I think I gambarized well.. I've gone through bad times, but I think
I was able to be patient in my own way..
Q: What was the difference between this Ozeki run and the other three?
MK: I felt this really was my last chance. I didn't want any regrets later.
Q:Looking back at the 15 days, what was your best bout?
MK:The Wakanosato bout on day 1 was huge. I won from a disadvantageous
position. I think I would have come undone if I had lost that one..
Q:Getting promoted to Ozeki at the age of 31 and three months is the
oldest ever..
MK:I don't feel I'm really that old. I still have plans as if I were a
young person. Other than the talk I hear around me, I don't feel it at all..
Q:Have you ever given up on the thought of reaching Ozeki in the past?
MK: The whole time..When I went 7-8 in Nagoya two years ago and failed
the run I felt it would be impossible.
Q: What supported you the most through this "last chance" run?
MK: My Shisho's encouragement and the fans cheering me loudly were a
large factor, but the greatest support I got was from my tsukebito*.
When they saw me really tense they were always around to tell me to calm
down just before I went on. I was actually nearly moved to tears by
these words..
Q: What were the shisho words to you?
MK: "Make it to Ozeki and get the yusho!!"
*tsukebito is plural in Japanese as well, so I'm not sure if he's
referring to Kotokuni who is his main man, or to the others as well..
