[sumo] Complete Basho video set for Nagoya 2007 [spoiler]

I finished making the 4-disk AVI fileset covering the entire NHK sumo
broadcast. This time there were only two significant glitches: (1)
sound quality on day 12 was sort of odd - once in a while, there is a
modulation in the tone which you can hear. This was the fault of
TVjapan and was not fixed until the next day. (2) Day 15 with its 3-hour
session caught me off guard and I missed a little of the start, but the
rest was all covered including the extended end time.

This basho I did some improved cropping and control of aspect ratio in
the video sets. In addition I did individual daily calibration of
brightness and contrast, to offset the tendency of TVJapan to wildly
vary their video baselines by up to 15% at times. One time I had to
also adjust the audio delay to properly match the video. With all the
hand tweaking, this set is the best I've made so far.

Details on the video set and how to request it are here:

I will take requests through this Friday. This is Kotomitsuki's
ascension basho to ozeki, so be sure to grab it if you want a memento.
It may also be the last basho he competes as Kotomitsuki, since it is
possible he will respect his shisho's wishes and take the great name
Kotozakura.

I'll probably also make the 1-disk end of basho TV-viewable dvd in a few
weeks, but I don't usually announce it here. Just watch my sumo list.
That dvd covers most of day 15 plus about half of days 13 and 14, about
3.5 hours total. Enough to get a taste of a basho, but not enough to
really immerse yourself in it.

I must say I really enjoyed this basho. The performance of Kotomitsuki
during the first 10 days was amazing. I could not believe that he had
become so powerful. He certainly deserves to be an ozeki.
